Travelling up the West coast to San Francisco
The next morning bill took us into Ventura where we would catch our train and bus to San Francisco that night, so we spent the day on the beach and in a cafe! I read on the Train until we got to santa barbera and then on teh coach I slept although it was freezing, We rolled into San Fran at 5am! Found a Hotel on Union Square (really good location) and I got us all a room for cheap, after we slept for a while we caught the tour bus to golden gate park and wondered around for ages their before catching teh bus again to the golden gate bridge, our tour guide was this wierd old guy who said the most pointless things but it was helarious! We were really lucky in San Fran as it was roasting hot and not cloudy which it usually is because of the pacific ocean pulls in cold weather and makes it cloudy. We then caught the bus to fishermans wharf and baught tickets for Alcatraz, we wanted to do the night tour but they were sold out for over a week :( so we got tickets for teh next day baught a takeaway and caught teh tram back. Next day we got up had brekkie and caught the bus to the golden gate bridge which we walked across, then went to see the sea lions and then alcatraz which was amazing, their was a guy their who was signing books, he had been an inmate for 5 years at alcatraz! shopped after for a bit and caught the tram back before going into china town and then to teh cheesecake factory which was onthe roof of macy's and teh view was awesome! Next day.......... phewwwww lol we got up quite late, went and played golf in the golden gate park which is bigger than central park! after golf we came back and caught the cable car up russian hill to the crookedest street and then went to the steepest road in San Fran which is over 30degrees :O finally before going to bed we went back to the cheesecake factory! Wow today!!!!!!! ok so basically I woke up late, went shopping, baught some new board shorts and a quiksilver t-shirt. went and had a wiked icecream at this quirky place 2 blocks away! then I chilled in union square and listened to music before talking to this guy who had also road tripped across america in a bus with randomers! later on today ill probly just go to teh cheesecake factory again. Tomorrow I fly to NYC in teh morning :(
Im gonna miss San Fran!
Im gonna miss San Fran!
Ojai and the end of the YukonXL :(
With the rest of the day I drove us all to Ojai which is a beautiful spanish influenced town a few hours north of LA just above Malibu beach, this town is where we would leave our YukonXL with our Boss's Bill and Sabina. We checked into the Best Western Hotel and then Bill took us all for a meal at this gorgeous Mediterrainian and after we chilled in the pool and jacousi :)
No more Driving!!!!!!!!!!
No more Driving!!!!!!!!!!
Santa Monica, Hollywood, Venice Beach etc...
Later this day we drove to LA's Santa Monica, during our drive through the Nevada Desert it reached 113f which is 45oC so yeah it was roasting hot, we got to Todd's house around 6pm, Todd worked at camp this year for his 50th birthday and he is a financial advisor for celebritys like will smith etc... The night we got to his house we had a wonderful meal and then Todd rushed off at 9pm for a meeting with Christina Aguilera! we all chilled in their pool and Jacouse. The next day we went to Santa Monica beach and chilled, then muscle beach had lunch, hired bikes and biked down the boulevard where everyone rollerblades etc.... we went to venice beach and after we just chilled in teh Gelfands pool for a while before going to a Mexican restaraunt and then Hollywood and Beverly Hills at night. The next day I drove to LA down sunset blvd and past beverly hills and to Hollywood where we spent the morning. I also drove to the big sign of "hollywood" on the side of the mountain which was a nightmare to get to!!!
Hoover Dam and Las Vegas
After sunset we got back in the car and drove to Vegas! during teh drive we stopped off at the Hoover Dam at night and got some pictures. A few hours later we rolled into Vegas and immediatly drove down the strip to Ceasars Palace, walked in at 2:30am looking like tramps and asked for a reservation... it was $380 per night so we turned it down, looked at a few more which was hard work as no other hotels would recommend others as they were competition, we eventually settled at circus circus for really cheap but a really nice room! straight away I dumped my bags and went to the casino to get away from everyone as emotions were high, I had a drink at the bar and played poker and then just kept getting free drinks so I stayed till quite early in the morning and then hit the bed! The next day we or should I say the girls really annoyed us by messing around with breakfast for agesssssss, that pissed me off alot to be honest. we then toured the strip/shopped, I got a new bag and t-shirt and then the girls were late so that pissed me and pete off even more and we just left them and did our own thing! we went and did a rollercoaster at NY NY and then went into Luxor and omg their were the hottest women working their! got a picture with them :D then we went to the bellagio and saw the water display their which was phenominal! hehe and then went back to the hotel to get ready for the night. That night pete was ill so it was just me and the girls who went out, we went to a few casinos but they got bored so we hit a nightclub called Tao which was inside the Vanecian. That was really posh and kool, I met a girl here who was at the olympics just before and she worked in China for 5 years but grew up in Germany, spent the night with her at the Hilton hotel and then the next day I went up the stratosphere but wasnt feeling to good to actually go on the rides :(
Moab Utah and Arizona
From here we had a 4hourish drive to a place called Moab in Utah, this was a fun drive as it was dark, thunderstorms all around us, no sign posts, no cars, ghost towns! and we were telling ghost stories and stuff. We finally rolled into Moab and booked into a ranch style motel. The next day we drove back on ourselfs to Arches National park and got some amazing pictures their, I climbed in to a hole on one of teh arches and the view was amazing! it is a great place to be. After arches we continued to Monument valley which you drive down to and it looks like a town of rocks, its pretty amazing, we were running into the road to take pictures and then running off before cars came lol! Our final stop that day was the grand canyon, I drove in their and we stayed around the watch tower for a while before rushing to the grand canyon outlook for sunset, during the rush I was speeding a little and a cop flashed their lights at me and I thaught he was going to spin around and give me a ticket but he didnt luckily! we got their just in time for sunset and it was unreal! It was nice to be alone and just think things through their.
Oh Oh we also drove down teh original route 66 :D
Oh Oh we also drove down teh original route 66 :D
Badlands, Mt Rushmore and onto Denver
OK so I got to the badlands before on my last blog and then I tried to update it and wrote shed loads and the computer got cut off! so all my efforts were lost but ill try to mention most of the things I did here.... After the badlands I drove To mount rushmore which was pretty amazing but the meaning of teh whole thing was lame and the fact you couldnt get up close to it sucked but apart from that it was a spectacle and teh whole history behind its making was phenominal, the use of TNT and that 90% of the work was done by explosives and then the info on their being an inscription their but they had to blow up and move one of teh faces of teh presidentr because the rock was to brittle took up the room for the inscription. Also the designer wasnt sure weather to include abraham with or without a beard! and the fact it cost over $900,000,000 to make it was pretty crazy :S After this we hit subway with some $5 footlongs and I drove on through the black hills which were steep and bendy, their were several bits with one way tunnels where you had to honk the horn and it was a kool road to drive on with a amazing view, during this drive we saw gophers on the plains, wild horses, a herd of buffalo which we had to stop for, and I nearly hit a fleet of Elk that dashed out infront of me which was scary! This was a really kool part of the trip as we saw little big horn and custers last stand, it was surreal as you could almost tell from the plains that it was fighting ground! I then drove on all the way through wyoming which was one massive straight road with a train track alongside it and probly the biggest freight train ive ever seen with over 100 carriages! This was a fun easy drive as I could hit 90mph all the way and not worry about the cops as I could see for miles!
Evergreen Colorado and Mt Evans
We arrived in Denver quite late around 8pm I think :S drove through to Evergreen which is where our Athletic Director Kenny lives, its like 8,000ft high and its so high the air is slightly thinner and soda cans burst under pressure their! We watched a thunder storm roll in that evening and i got a picture of the lightening hitting a mountain which looks sweet :D The next day we all went and watched a colorado rockies game at the Coors stadium, they were playing cincinatti reds and it went to the 11th inning which is quite rare and the rockies won 4-3 After this we had a lovely meal at kennys which his wife cooked and then played on the Xbox with Jake for a few hours. The next day we left and we drove up Mt Evans which is one of teh tallest mountains in America, its 14,200+ ft high and the air is really thin up their! the view was surreal and on teh way back down the mountain our car started to run low on coolant! so I had to pull over into wallmart and buy some and wait for teh engine to cool down before adding it! so we all got lunch :)

Road Trip Across America! Niagra (Canada) & Chicago
OK guys so lots has happened since I last blogged!
first of all I did a program after camp called listen for under privilidged kids which was awesome, hard work though as their behaviour was pretty terrible. I ended up gaining the nickname mr blondie and it was 70kids half boys and half girls. A very different atmosphere all in all.
After this we all had a beautiful meal at port and heidis house (the camp owners) and then went to the red house for drinks and to chill. We didnt drink because we planned to drive to niagra that night from 11pm. So....... the journey began after saying goodbye to everyone.
Their were 5 of us guys, Jess, Jules, Amy, Pete and myself. Me jess and jules were teh drivers and jess started off the driving, about 3/4 hours in we hit this wierd town called beddington or something similar to that and it was filled with manakins in strange poses like off the indiana jones movie (a town ready for a bomb test) it was so freeky. After this came buffalo and niagra which we decided on a whimm to go to Canada I drove around 5 hours into niagra and over teh border. I have some amazing pictures to show of it all but cant publish them as of yet. we spent all morning in Niagra and went on maid of the mist and had a nice breakfast their, set off around 1pm and got stuck at border coming back in to America because jules was missing her I-94 form which was really important and only costs $3 but wasted around 3 hours of our travelling time which meant we were rolling into Chicago alot later than anticipated.
Anyways im getting really tierd atm so I will continue this story tomorrow morning or something...
Just so you know im in Santa Monica right now in the most surreal environment! its AMAZING! will tell all soon. Ive been very busy driving and had no time to email which is why im over 2000miles away from where im talking about haha Good night x
.... Ok so im back is now the morning of the 30th
When we rolled into Chicago I literally just followed the ring road around until I saw Sears tower and then guessed where to go and ended up pulling up at a Travellodge, we booked in for pretty cheap about $30 each and then went to sleep! after many many hours of driving! In the morning we went for a nice breakfast at panera bread and then walked to millenium park and got some pictures their, my toe was causing me loads of pain because it was septic from camp when I dropped a bridge on it haha, but I limped on around the windy city. After millenium park we went to Sears tower and gort some amazing pictures and views from the top, and finally we went to the Cheesecake Factory :D
we left Chicago around 8/9pm and plodded on our trip through the night all the way through 3 states to the Badlands national park in South Dakota which was phenominal! it was a huge moral booster after driving for like 15hours. We stopped at several gas stations in the middle of no where, was surreal. I remember these 2 kittens at one gas station in the middle of no where, that was nice to see a pet animal for some reason it cheered me up :S
Gotta go again now, will finish my update soon :D

The Week
Ok so.... Sunday night was sick fun, played a massive game of sting pong with all the other guys in the rec hall. Its kinda got to that stage now where everyone is ready for camp to end.
I was put on a mountain trip on Monday till Tuesday called Lafayette. It basically was a hour and a half drive to the place, me another counselor called Joanna and 5 kids, We arrived around 10am and hiked in the pouring rain for a few hours up to around 4000ft where we set camp around 1pm, it was hard work and it was cold! once we pitched our tents we hiked around another 700ft to the summit of mt Liberty. Came back down and stayed in our tents until around 5pm when we cooked mac and cheese for dinner and then read chuck norris jokes and talked crap and played games with the kids. I slept on just solid wood flooring and didnt really drop off to sleep for the whole night. We all got up at 6am to start teh second day, This was about a 10mile hike where we summited 3 more mountains, mt little haystack, mt lincoln and mt lafayette which is 5200ft. Lincolns summit was the most grand, the problem was that it was raining and we couldnt see anything. we met some through hikers at the top who had hiked from georgia and they were on day 130. At the top of Lafayette we were actually above the rain cloud so it was nice to have 20mins without rain even though it was only about 45 faren. Eventually we made it back to the car park and set off back to camp around 4pm. Ohhh but before that we stopped at a pizza place which didnt end good as one kid was caught in the girls bathroom haha and another kid nearly crapped his pants because one of teh pizzas were bad!
Yesterday it rained all day pretty much and today is my day off, I went to Conway to go shopping, didnt buy anything figured it would be better to buy at the end of my travels. Im just chilling in the chase house at the moment as im really tierd and this will be my last blog for a while as the next two nights off will be party wild!!!
Its predicted to rain for another 4 days which is crazy here! I drove through a pretty big storm earlier, it was raining so hard I couldnt see 10ft infront of teh car and lightening struck like around a few hundred meters from the car and it was so sick to see :)
I feel like im blabbering on about nothing atm and im mega tierd so ill cut it here. Night peeps.

Full Update Hopefully :D
Alrightttttttttt :P
So here I am atm at this wonderful holiday home in Maine which a fellow co counselor invited teh day off crew too and its well wow! its on a small island on a lake in Maine and the house is immense, it has like 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a hottub in the bedroom, a pool table, pingpong table, trampoline, a dock with a boat which I went water skiing and wakeboarding for the first time and I got up on the ski's but unfortunatly didnt manage to get up on the wake board. Had a wonderful lunch and dinner here, atm watching braveheart as I write this blog.
The other things in timeline order are...
Kids last session on the last night basically behaved like arseholes so the next day when their parents picked them up we wernt so bothered and kinda wanted most of them to go except a few well behaved ones. It was my day off so I left quite early after meeting a few parents. During the day someones parents rolled up by landing their plane on the lake and putting the bags and kid in then flew off! A few gifts I got were a tee shirt, some chocolates a coffee mug, and a book from a kid who wrote me a letter thanking me for helping him with soccer! that was real nice.
After we left for our day off we went to a place called woodstock and had a wiked meal at the local Inn followed by a swim in teh river which was very rapid the current was really strong!
Later that night all teh counselors went to electra which is a nightclub and it was sooo crazy and funny :D the director was dancing and it was just helarious to see everyone having such a good time.
The next morning I didnt feel too bad so me and 2 other counselors took teh 7 and a half week kids to a waterpark called whales tails. Some of the flumes their were wiked fun! had a great day out their and after we went to the cinema and I watched x files which was terrible haha.
The following day which was Monday was opening day for the next lot of kids. I drove over 2 hours to the airport in Manchester to pick a kid up, he was a kool kid, had lunch and got back just in time for all the activities teh kids were playing at camp. Later that evening soccer did an announcement which basically introduced out activity area and we did teh crossbar challenge, if you miss you do pushups and if you hit you dish out pushups, no one hit lol, even got teh director to try...
I woke up early the next morning to go for a run which was nice but very tiering, then in teh evening I had double fishing and had a kid who had never fished before so I spent ages fixing a rod and then randomly he caught his first fish in his life which was kool.
The canoe to hanover yesterday went really well, I had two really kool kids in my canoe and it was really easy and fun, got slightly sun burnt.
Soooo more has happened with the road trip after camp now....... chapter 2

Color War!!!
Ok guys so .... recent happenings in America, My last day off was rather dull, a storm hit and it just rained the whole day so me and a few friends chilled out at teh chase house and watched a movie called into the wild which was awesome!!! havnt seen a movie that good in a long time, also went to this old classic kool diner which served some amazing bbq burgers!!
The next few days were regular days, I helped kids with teh achievement chart etc.... and then color war, teh whole camp split into two teams which were fake at first as I drove to pick up some things I missed this initial bit of it, then later on they were spooked out by all us counselors dressing up and jumping out of the woods with tiki torches and masks etc... The real teams were announced and I was a advisor for teh Grey team, this basically means I follow my team around to everything and help out wherever and however possible, coaching cheering etc... The two intense days of competition which followed were awesome, I felt like I made such a positive impact to our team along with several other counselors. We (grey team) dominated teh first day and were 100 points in teh lead, second morning we dominated also, won both our mega moose relays which ended in a fire building contest where they have to burn a rope about 4 foot high until it snaps. The afternoon we lost as it was in teh water and we were burnt out. I was feeling tierd as teh night before I didnt get to bed till late because I was helping my team with teh song and skit (drama play) also one of my kids woke up crying saying he saw a guy with a black bin bag over his shoulder in teh cabin. so I was up till late to make sure this kid was ok and then I had to wake up at 5am for fishing.
SO teh song and the skit, we did very well at it but teh Red team had put far more time into it and it was amazing to see. In the end it came down to like 15 points which is one sports game/competitive event! so very close but im so happy we won :)
Today I have been drinking honey and lemon to get my voice back :) had last night from 9pm off so chilled out at Marins house and had some beers and reflected on the past 2 days. Today rained so it was a chill day I was supposed to go on a golf trip which turned into a cinema trip with teh seniors and we watched teh new batman which was pretty sweet :) Then this avo ive had off so ive just chilled with everyone again and tryed to organise another rendezvoux with stef.
If you guys have any news pm me please.
Oh and btw Thanks for teh letter dad it was real nice to hear from you, Hope your taking good care and I look forward to doing TKD and some Golf with you when Im back at home.

Veteran
Ok so Camp is going sweet :D the kids in my cabin are all kool but loud still!
Ive been doing heaps of trips and things, the other day I Canoed to Hanover with all my cabin and half of another cabin, their were 3 other councelors on the trip! It was freeking hard work mentally, 14miles down a river with teh 2 kids in my cabin who mess around and act lazy! Lunch was barely anything so I was starving, but after we docked at the boat club we all got changed and went out for a nice meal at EBA's which is a pizza joint, then we all went to watch a movie, I ended up watching Wall-E which was kool if anyones seen it!
Today I have been to drop off a Mt Washington trip which took 3 hours to get their but teh drive and teh scenary was phenominal! on teh way back I stopped off at a dinner called Welshys which had been open since 1893 and I had the tastiest brunch! It was 2 giant pancakes with maple syrup, blueberrys, blackberrys, strewberrys and whipped cream. Then on another plate I had 2 eggs turned, ham, potatoes and some toast along with a chocolate frappe to wash it down! I tipped well for that meal because it was so good.
I stopped off on teh way back a few times to admire teh awesome views which I have pictures of now!
I also have found out im on a fluff trip to Manchester... teh one in New England not England :P its a trip with the senior kids and you go to a theme park and tehn to a baseball game. Also on top of that I found out im on teh Listen program after camp so thats more $$$ and im also a driver for teh directors car so Im driving across the states all teh way to LA and then im going to try to get a flight to san fransisco stay their for a few days and fly back to NYC where I will hopefully meet up with James, Martyn and Chris if they come out.
On other news we had a counselor soccer match, that was intense and ended 2-2 which being the competitive person I am kinda pissed me off as we didnt have time for overtime :@
erm... On my nights off ive been chilling, went to a counselors house teh other day which was massive, he must have owned at least 100acres of land. had a sweet fire and some beverages their. Also went to a festival called willow, it was pretty kool. huge fire and lots of bands playing, around 3000 people their I guessed.
My days off ive spent with Stef a friend from over here. We chilled at wiers beach teh first day and played mini golf and swimmed in lake squam. Second rendezvoux we went around lake squam and just chilled and had a nice meal.
Other news.... nothing much really just the weather has been up in the high 30's been fishing in teh lake and things...blar blar.
Please comment :) would be nice to hear from some of you guys.

After the Call
Ok so im back, I have heaps of pictures to upload but Ive gone and lost my card converter thingy so it will have to wait till another night.
Pre camp was sweet as, we were way ahead of schedule so most days were free and because im a veteran now I didnt have to sit and listen to all the newbie shit you get told about daily routine etc... Re did my first aid cert which was easy as it was fresh from my National Pool Lifeguard Course. Soccer was easy to set up, painting the lines and pumping up the new balls, then testing them obviously haha. When the kids arrived I had to help them unpack, all of them are kool theirs a few noisy ones and a spanish kid but their all sound.
Other things ive done recently erm... we have a pre camp party called 118 which is like a hicksville band thing. That was awesome, we nearly left our camp director behind as he was chasing the bus drunk haha.
I got to drive teh 4 spanish kids to teh owners of teh camps house and watch the final of the euros! that was a privilidge :)
Went to the drive in movies and paid 7 bucks to watch freeking narnia which I fell asleep through and froze my butt off! but saw a sweet hot air balloon over the mountains. Then was up teh next morning for early fishing at 5am YAWNNNNNNNNNNNN.
Most nights on duty are fun also except last night when two of my kids clogged the toilet with a huge deuce! I got a BTCOD for it though (Beyond teh call of duty) But usually when their asleep I go to teh rec hall and play sting pong haha, its the greatest game ever!
The day schedule is pretty sweet, 3 periods in teh morning which I usually introduce all teh soccer councillors and then do a drill like passing, shooting etc... then a mini game at teh end, then free period which I go and hit the weights with the senior A1s then lunch, then rest hour which sometimes is good depending on if the kids in teh cabin are quiet, then 2 more periods which I usually do achievements or a match with the kids, then dinner and then its either afternoon off duty or if your on duty you have evening activities which are more fun, you get asigned to different ones each time, yesterday I had inters for dodge ball and we played councillors v's and had a bet, eitehr we would be teh waiters for breakfast and dinner or if we won then they couldnt speak untill breakfast the next day and also had to let us sleep during rest hour even though were not allowed to haha.
I could go on for ages and tell you loads of crap but im sure you only wanna read this to se how im doing and if theirs anything new.
Take care guys and post some comments for me :)
