first of all I did a program after camp called listen for under privilidged kids which was awesome, hard work though as their behaviour was pretty terrible. I ended up gaining the nickname mr blondie and it was 70kids half boys and half girls. A very different atmosphere all in all.
After this we all had a beautiful meal at port and heidis house (the camp owners) and then went to the red house for drinks and to chill. We didnt drink because we planned to drive to niagra that night from 11pm. So....... the journey began after saying goodbye to everyone.
Their were 5 of us guys, Jess, Jules, Amy, Pete and myself. Me jess and jules were teh drivers and jess started off the driving, about 3/4 hours in we hit this wierd town called beddington or something similar to that and it was filled with manakins in strange poses like off the indiana jones movie (a town ready for a bomb test) it was so freeky. After this came buffalo and niagra which we decided on a whimm to go to Canada I drove around 5 hours into niagra and over teh border. I have some amazing pictures to show of it all but cant publish them as of yet. we spent all morning in Niagra and went on maid of the mist and had a nice breakfast their, set off around 1pm and got stuck at border coming back in to America because jules was missing her I-94 form which was really important and only costs $3 but wasted around 3 hours of our travelling time which meant we were rolling into Chicago alot later than anticipated.
Anyways im getting really tierd atm so I will continue this story tomorrow morning or something...
Just so you know im in Santa Monica right now in the most surreal environment! its AMAZING! will tell all soon. Ive been very busy driving and had no time to email which is why im over 2000miles away from where im talking about haha Good night x
.... Ok so im back is now the morning of the 30th
When we rolled into Chicago I literally just followed the ring road around until I saw Sears tower and then guessed where to go and ended up pulling up at a Travellodge, we booked in for pretty cheap about $30 each and then went to sleep! after many many hours of driving! In the morning we went for a nice breakfast at panera bread and then walked to millenium park and got some pictures their, my toe was causing me loads of pain because it was septic from camp when I dropped a bridge on it haha, but I limped on around the windy city. After millenium park we went to Sears tower and gort some amazing pictures and views from the top, and finally we went to the Cheesecake Factory :D
we left Chicago around 8/9pm and plodded on our trip through the night all the way through 3 states to the Badlands national park in South Dakota which was phenominal! it was a huge moral booster after driving for like 15hours. We stopped at several gas stations in the middle of no where, was surreal. I remember these 2 kittens at one gas station in the middle of no where, that was nice to see a pet animal for some reason it cheered me up :S
Gotta go again now, will finish my update soon :D
